Protypo Greek Centre was established in 1981 and is centrally located in the Oakleigh community. We have a current enrolment of over 600 children with classes running for Babies and Toddlers as well as 3 Year old Kindergarten through to VCE in Greek language and learning.

Prerequisites

  • Written and verbal Greek and English language skills (equivalent to VCE level or above)
  • Confidence in teaching a second language
  • Well-developed team work and communication skills
  • Passion for working with children and young adults
  • Current Working With Children Check
  • The ability to commit to no less than 12 months of an ongoing teaching appointment

We are open to receiving applications from dynamic individuals who are passionate about teaching the Greek language to Greek-Australian youth. Whilst a background in education is preferred, it is by no means a prerequisite as our Principal and Director Dr. Gindidis offers ongoing training and professional development throughout your employment at Protypo Greek Centre including, but not limited to:

  • Monash University Methodology Training
  • iPads in Greek Education Training
  • Brain-based Teaching Seminars

In order to ensure that we employ passionate teachers who will fit into our unique learning environments and culture, our application and employment process is quite vigorous. Contracted hours vary anywhere between 2 hours per week (for example, Kindergarten Saturday instruction) to 10 hours per week (Monday, Friday and Saturday instruction for classes between Prep and Year 10). Working at Protypo is not just a job, it’s an adventure! Are you up for the challenge?
